Building-Mounted Signs (also called “Wall Signs”) are signs that are mounted directly onto the outside of a building (or, the building “fascia”). Wall Signs are certainly a vital part of your branding strategy because, though Pylon Signs and Monument Signs have been proven to increase the number of potential customers being drawn to your location, it is the wall signage that reassures your customer that they have reached the proper destination. Without a clearly visible wall sign, your would-be customer is very likely to drive away.
There are many different types of Wall Signs to choose from. One of the most common is the Box Sign. “Box Sign” is a term used to describe a sign that is fabricated using a rectangular metal frame. The sides and back are typically enclosed using sheet metal while the face is likely to be a plexiglass material decorated with your organization’s name and logo. Box signs will usually be internally illuminated using either fluorescent lamps or, in more recent years, LED modules. This single-sided sign will be mounted directly onto a building front.
Projecting Signs are double-sided signs that are made to extend from a building at a perpendicular angle. Projecting Signs are very commonly used in a Main Street atmosphere where several different businesses are lined up flush against one another with a shared sidewalk. They may be bolted firmly to the building side, or the face may be installed onto decorative hardware that allows the face to swing a bit.
Wall Signs can be illuminated, non-illuminated, box signs, channel letters, or plate metal, all depending on your company’s signage needs and local codes.
